What is Delta-8-THC?

Delta-8-THC is a minor cannabinoid, occurring in the plant in very small concentrations. Delta-8-THC is also known to be a degraded form of THC, and is not directly produced by cannabinoid-synthesizing enzymes within the plant. Both delta-8 and delta-9-THC contain double bonds in their molecular chain. Delta-8-THC contains that bond on the 8th carbon chain, while delta-9-THC contains the bond on the 9th carbon chain. Although it’s a subtle difference, it has noticeable effects on how the body’s endocannabinoid receptors bind and respond to the molecule.

Delta-9 THC is easily oxidized to become cannabinol (CBN) or delta-8-THC. Delta-8-THC is stable, does not oxidize to become cannabinol, and boasts a prolonged shelf life. Such stability is desirable in a medicinal compound. Delta-8-THC is also about half as strong as delta-9. Delta-8-THC binds to the CB1 receptor like delta-9-THC, but its affinity for the receptor is different due to its slightly altered molecular structure.

What are the benefits of Delta-8-THC?

Will get you high, but not super high. Delta-8-THC will get you high, but it is about half as strong as its cousin, Delta-9-THC. Some people describe the high as more uplifting and clear-headed. Some people who have felt anxiety while smoking pot (with the typical Delta-9-THC) have not experienced anxiety when smoking Delta-8-THC.

Pain relief*. It also seems to have additional medicinal effects than regular THC, such as better pain relief, but these claims have yet to be weighed out in clinical trials. Based on these anecdotal reports, Delta-8 is quickly becoming a trendy new cannabis product, appearing in products like vape cartridges, soft drinks, gummies and tinctures.

Reduces anxiety*. Much like CBD and CBG, Delta-8-THC can help with anxiety.

Can improve cognitive function (surprise!)* The 2004 study referenced above by Avraham et al. also found “a tendency (of delta-8-THC) to improve cognitive function.” A study from 1987 using mouse models (HL Tripathi et al.) found that delta-8 THC increased acetylcholine levels in the cortex and hippocampus, and decreased acetylcholine turnover in hippocampus. This is relevant because Alzheimer’s disease is associated with declining levels of ACH in the brain.

Can be useful to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy*. Delta-8-THC can be extremely valuable to people undergoing chemo because it has been show to reduce nausea and stop vomiting. Children had been treated with different drugs and [chemotherapy] for eight months prior to treatment with delta-8-THC. The delta-8-THC treatments started two hours before each session of chemo and continued every six hours for 24 hours. With this treatment, vomiting was completely prevented and side-effects were reported as negligible.

Can be used to fight cancer*. It has long been hypothesized that cannabis could play an active role in fighting cancer, and there are studies as far back as the 1970s that back up this theory. An unexpected discovery occurred during the study, though, after researchers realized that the mice who had been treated with delta-8 THC for a period of 20 days actually had reduced tumor sizes. Researchers also found that survival time went up when mice with cancer were treated with delta-8 THC. How it will arrive

The cartridge will be screwed on to the battery when you receive it. It can be removed and the battery reused with other 510 thread cartridges. So to turn the device on you simply need to press the button 5 times.

How to use it and adjust power

When it’s on to use it you will need to press and hold down the button while inhaling. Note that you can change the temperature from low-medium-high. To change the temperature you will need to press the button 3 times. Green is the lowest setting, it will allow you to taste the most flavor out of each puff. The lowest level will also let your battery last the longest. Blue is the medium temperature, great for a nice puff of vapor and taste. You’ll note that the hotter the temperature is the stronger the effect will be from your use. Red is the hottest setting, it will get you the a strong effect felt from your use. That said it will also use the battery much more meaning you may need to recharge more often.

How to charge it

To charge it you will need to remove the cartridge and screw on the usb charging port that came in the packaging. If the light is showing red when you press and hold down the button you may be in the hottest setting. When charging you will note that the color will be red until fully charged then it will be green to indicate its ready to use. Typically it will charge in about 20mins. Just make sure not to charge it with any fast chargers, instead charge it with a PC computer USB port or any low power USB charging device or brick. Reusing

Once all of the vape oil is used the whole component is to be discarded responsibly.
