Review of Tatuaje Tattoo

The Tatuaje Tattoo is the first in a line of budget-friendly cigars designed for smokers who wish to indulge in a cigar with an extra-dark, silky Ecuadorian Habano wrapper.

The Tatuaje Tattoo Universo Toro cigar is a Nicaraguan-made product with a medium strength and the traditional Toro shape. Nicaraguan tobacco was used for the binder and filter, while an elegant Ecuadorian habano leaf served as the wrapper.

Appearance of Tatuaje Tattoo Universo Toro

One of Tatuaje’s budget-friendly lines of cigars is the Tatuaje Tattoo Universo Toro. The cigar’s wrapper is thick and has a deep brown color that immediately draws attention. The leaf has a slight amount of roughness and is velvety and smooth. A few little veins and a gorgeous gloss on the wrapper don’t seem to be a problem.

Rather to the triple caps I’m used to seeing on Tatuaje, this work is finished with what seems to be a double cap. On the cigar’s band, which features accents in white, black, and gold as well as a black Pete Johnson sign, the word Tattoo is inscribed above.

The seams are compact yet clearly visible, and the pack is even and robust. There are no problems with the structure from the outside. It smells like a good old-fashioned barnyard cigar on the wrapper. A tiny quantity of sweetened dry chocolate was placed on the foot.

Smoking Experience

Upon lighting the Tatuaje Tattoo Universo Toro cigar up, the first thing I noticed was how slick the wrapper was and how much smoke was flowing off of it. So far, it has a faint pepper taste, but it lacks both spice and strength.

A tinge of wood was there in the first third of the cigar, and the pepper flavor persisted even on the retro-hale. The draw has a little nutty or woody finish, and the pepper is not at all terrible or overbearing. It also has some creamy flavor that you can taste on your lips and tongue as well as a  sweet flavor. It focuses more on earthy notes and leather. It’s mild to medium in terms of strength. The tastes don’t have any punch or impact yet. Additionally, the ash is staying on and the burning is excellent.

The tastes are significantly more abundant in the second third. Although the flavors are the same, it is now tastier. While not overwhelming, there is a little chocolate flavor. The taste of the leather and earthy cooking spices has greatly increased, and there is now more pepper present but not excessively. The pepper is only being made known to you. The tastes are finally giving it some punch and making it nice at this point. More pepper is now present in the retro-hale as well.

It is now emitting a thicker smoke for my last third. With only a hint of chocolate, the tastes have changed to an earthy cocoa. The retro-hale is fairly light, and the body is still medium. Since it mostly relies on the earthy flavors of it, there isn’t really much of a flavor shift there. The burn time is also excellent.

Overall

The Tatuaje Tattoo Universo Toro cigar has a unique profile and a lengthy burn time. Even though there isn’t much of a taste shift there, I still liked smoking it since it burns slowly, allowing you time to appreciate the leathery and earthy flavors it produces.

It is not awful if you wanted to switch from your regular stick to this one, especially if you like the customary earthy tastes. If you like the conventional nice, deep, earthy tastes, this will be your go-to, affordable stick.
