If some of you don’t know, the renowned cigar manufacturer Carlito Fuente is good friends with Cuban-American actor Andy Garcia. Fuente’s renowned Chateau de la Fuente estate in the Dominican Republic served as the setting for the 2005 movie “The Lost City.”
In addition to providing the setting for the celebrity’s movie, he also made a cigar in its honor, which is the “Fuente Fuente Opus X Lost City.” They may have lived in two different worlds and come from different backgrounds, but the one thing that binds them together is the special bond that they share and their love for cigars.
Andy Garcia's favorite cigar is the Private Reserve cigar.
Just like any cigar aficionado out there, actor Andy Garcia also has his own favorite, and that is the Private Reserve cigar. As a matter of fact, Carlos Fuente Sr. introduced it to Andy after handing him a box of his Private Reserve cigars.
During an interview with Cigar Aficionado, the actor mentioned that he wasn’t fully aware of what it would mean to him then, saying, “It was the connection he made with that gesture. It was as if he was saying, ‘Smoke this. This is me.’ And it was a great smoke. I still smoke them.”
The Hollywood icon has undoubtedly smoked a variety of cigar brands, but he made clear that none of them have ever provided him the same level of satisfaction as the one Fuente, who passed away in 2016, initially gave him.
“There’s a smoothness to it that lets you smoke it late at night or early in the morning,” Garcia added. “Some cigars you can’t smoke in the morning because they’re too strong or heavy. But these are cigars that can be smoked at all times. It’s not one of those cigars that makes your head spin.”
