Appearance of Macanudo Vintage 2006 Toro

The Macanudo Vintage 2006 Toro cigar has a Connecticut shade wrapper that has visible veins and minimal seams. This cigar has a unique band, which I find cool since it’s a metal band; it’s almost like a ring. The band is something you could also use or include in your keychain along with your car or house keys.

The band design is very simple. It has the words “Macanudo Vintage” written in the middle, in uppercase, using a red font. The metal band is in color gray, and it’s shiny. The band also has simple gold line details at the top and bottom.

The Macanudo Vintage 2006 Toro cigar also has a foot band with the phrase “Macanudo Vintage 2000” written on it in black font, placed in a gold-colored backdrop with a simple red-colored line design at the top and bottom, serving as the band’s border.

Smoking Experience

Macanudo VIntage 2006 Metal Band

The Macanudo Vintage 2006 Toro cigar has an earthy smell upon smelling it and a grassy note. The foot of the cigar smells wheat. The cold draw tastes sugary, and there’s also detectable wheat, which is present in the smell on the foot of the cigar.

Upon lighting the Macanudo Vintage 2006 Toro cigar, the flavor that comes first is the wheat present in the tongue up to the back draw. It is also accompanied by the sweetness that I find too much. There’s also an earth, leather, and cedar note. These flavors are weird combinations, but they don’t taste badly combined, which I find interesting.

For the first third of the Macanudo Vintage 2006 Toro cigar, the flavor profile remains pretty much the same, except that there’s a little bit of spice joining the flavor profile, which I think gives balance to the overall flavors, especially with the sweet note of it. Speaking of, the sweetness of this cigar mellows down a little bit, giving way to the spice, so it’s like a spicy-sweet combination that I find good. It also has a good amount of creaminess, almost like vanilla.

After my second third of smoking the Macanudo Vintage cigar, the leather note is now gone, but it was replaced by grass and hay. The other flavor profile remains the same. Consistency-wise, this is doing a good job so far. For the construction of this cigar, it didn’t give much smoke output, but the draw is good. The burn is also good, but it’s not even, which I don’t mind as long as there’s no part where the burn canoe down to one spot. The ash is holding well, but bits of it are already falling.

The flavor profile remained the same for my final third of the Macanudo Vintage 2006 Toro cigar. It’s consistent all the way through. Only a little flavor transition happened at this point, so the flavor profile of this cigar consists of sweet grass, hay, earth, and cedar, with hints of creaminess and spice. This one has light flavors. The ash fell off at this point, but the burn and the draw are still good. The strength of this cigar is indeed medium.

Overall

Overall, the Macanudo Vintage 2006 Toro cigar consists of light flavors and is medium in strength. I think that even if you’re a beginner in the cigar world, this is something that you can try considering how light the flavors are. I also think the flavors are perfect for beginners who don’t want to jump into smoking a cigar that has a dark and bold flavor profile.

For the construction of this cigar, I don’t think this gives a great performance, but it’s still good. It didn’t give me a hard time getting the flavors in as I smoke since the draw is good; the burn is not even, but it’s tolerable. If you’re someone who wants a cigar that produces a tremendous amount of smoke, this may not be your cup of tea, but it’s still a good cigar to smoke if we’re just talking about flavors and construction. The Macanudo Vintage 2006 Toro cigar is something I would buy again in the future.

Other Macanudo Cigar Reviews

Macanudo Cru Royale

Macanudo Cru Royale was introduced in 2010 to fill a gap in the Macanudo line. This cigar was created to be full of flavors and medium-bodied. These cigars are stronger than the Dominican Macanudo Café line but they are milder than the 1968 cigars. The Cru Royale comes with an Ecuadorian Habano seed wrapper which gives it such a satisfying flavor. This cigar also features the La Vega Especial, a proprietary binder leaf. La Vega Especial means the special farm in Spanish. This is cultivated in the Dominican Republic. The Macanudo Cru Royale also has a filler blend that includes Brazilian Mata Fina tobacco to give it more depth. All these results in a consistently medium-bodied cigar with a highly interesting flavor profile incomparable to other Macanudo cigar offerings.

The Arturo Fuente Opus X Lost City’s unique origin story, interwoven with Hollywood allure, enhances its premium status as much as its intricate flavors do.
